The Shaolin Warriors at the Adelaide Festival Centre
The amazing Shaolin Warriors are coming to Adelaide as part of the OzAsia Festival 2011.
The history of the Shaolin Warriors in China goes back to a monastery founded in 464 BC, the martial arts is known as the external practice and the meditation as the internal practice of their Buddhism.
Words cannot describe the acrobatics that defy gravity, the martial arts movement that defy the eye and the control of breath, muscle and mind. You have to see to believe. Take a look at the following video.
Worldwide popularity of Shaolin Warriors' performances has led to a movies (one in 1984 at the beginning of their international stardom and another to be released this year starring Jackie Chan) video games and academies teaching the external Kung Fu.
The performers in this production are all monks and perform to promote kung-fu.
The show that will be performed in Adelaide as part of the OzAsia Festival 22 Kung Fu Masters follow the journey from a young child's initiation in a monastery to warrior status.
