From 2pm, get ready to experience the Baazar of Baghdad an interactive folkloric show of diverse Iraqi music, singing and dance. There will be a true bazaar feel with live Arabic calligraphy, food and tea stalls, henna tattoos, and traditional jewellery.
The grand culmination of the Iraqi Cultural Festival is a concert of quality classical Arabic music that celebrates the music of Iraq and its connection to the Arab World. The concert features local Sydney singers, accompanied by MACAM Music Ensemble and Amasi Singing Group.
The repertoire includes music pieces by renowned Arab composers, folkloric songs and exciting new compositions that unfold the stories of immigrants in a foreign land. The magnificent repertoire will give the audience the opportunity to taste the delights of a wide range of Middle Eastern tunes.
