The always entertaining outdoor series, 'Shakespeare in the Park', returns to Bella Vista Farm Park for its seventh season this December. This annual event is part of a repertory season of plays produced by Sport for Jove's (SFJ) and is the brainchild of Hills residents Damien and Bernadette Ryan who launched Shakespeare in the Rose Garden in 2009 at the Roxborough Park Rose Garden with Damien's production of 'A Midsummer Night's Dream'.This year's programme includes two much loved comedies; 'The Importance of Being Earnest', by Oscar Wilde and Shakespeare's 'Love's Labour's Lost'.Both SFJ productions will be given new life in the glorious surrounds of Bella Vista Farm:
The Importance of Being EarnestDirected by Damien Ryan and Terry ParabolasSet Design by Anna Gardiner and Damien RyanCostume Design by Anna GardinerFeaturing Deborah Kennedy as Lady Bracknell with Claire Lovering, Eloise Winestock, Aaron Tsindos, Scott Sheridan and Wendy Strehlow.
Earnest blows a glorious bubble around heterosexual or 'normal' relationships and lets it burst, celebrating and lambasting the earnest silliness of marriage between a man and a woman.Performance Dates - December 18, 19, 22, 23, 28, 30.
Love's Labour's LostAdapted & Directed by Damien RyanCostume Design by Melanie LiertzFeaturing Emily Eskell, Sabrina T'eo, Tim Walter, Berynn Schwerdt, Madeleine Jones, Lara Schwerdt, Curtis Fernandez & George BandersFour young men and four young women take to romance like hunters to their prey in this dazzling comedy that subverts the 'Hollywood ending' hundreds of years before Hollywood dreamt of it.Preceding 'Love's Labour's Lost' is Shakespearealism, a one-act comedy curtain raiser, by acclaimed Australian actor, writer and film director Josh Lawson. As part of the experience, audiences will be invited to enjoy a social picnic and make use of the public BBQ facilities in the outer grounds of the farm or simply wander the walk ways and view the avenue of Bunya Pines that form the original driveway to the homestead before the show begins. There will be limited selection of food and drinks available for purchase and audience members are welcome to bring their own food and drinks to the event.Tickets are now on sale for both events and are priced from $35pp.Early bookings are advised to avoid disappointment; to make a booking, please visit Outix and select your desired session.
