From
the website:
"The Merry Wives of Windsor
is considered to be the bard’s most down to earth comedy. It’s a bawdy romp set in the homes and taverns of Shakespeare’s middle class peers and follows the misadventures of Sir John Falstaff, the boozy fat knight who became Queen Elizabeth’s favourite comic character. "
The director Wayne Pratt has promised a barely recognisable version of the Old Bard's classic, updated to contemporary mores. Modernising the bard is always a little unpredictable, it will be interesting to see what he's done.
Bring your own picnic and wine. Proceedings kick off at 7.30pm, and you can pay the recommended $10 contribution on the night so there is no need to book.
Why? Great location, easy to get to, and another excuse for an evening picnic while the weather is fine.
