There'll be a whole lotta shakin' goin' on in the Gabba on Saturday, June 29 when the Gabba Village Association hosts Shake the Village, a fifties inspired street event. Known as the antique precinct, this small stretch of heritage-listed buildings on Logan Road is quickly becoming one of Brisbane's must do destinations, with art galleries, vintage stores, retro-inspired shops, renown restaurants and cool bars.

Beginning at 5pm, guests can stroll street stalls and mingle underneath Woolloongabba's whimsical lampshade streetlights. Live music kicks off at 6:30pm with Brisbane's own four-piece 'filly-billy' band The Sugarshakers . Enjoy a cocktail at Canvas or Crosstown Eating House , dine at one of Brisbane's best Italian restaurants 1889 Enoteca or try Pan Asian cuisine at the recently opened Birdcage Restaurant . Nothing to wear? Don't fret. You can pick up at fabulous fifties frock at That Shop .

Parking is minimal so public transport is being encouraged. Brisbane's new Maroon CityGlider services Woolloongabba twenty-four hours a day on weekends with thirty minute intervals after midnight.
