Werribee is known for the Werribee Zoo and Werribee Mansions , but what it should now be known for is great wine. This was my first visit to a winery in Werribee and I was pleasantly surprised.

is a small estate in Werribee, which provides wine and meals with a classic jazz band to entertain its guests. The wine selection has ten choices ranging from shiraz to rose and pino gris. All wines can be tasted at the tasting counter where you are greeted by a wonderfully friendly staff member, who happily shows you around the wine menu.

Wine can be bought by the glass or bottle. It is however more cost effective to purchase a bottle to share among friends (or just for yourself).

I visited for a 30th birthday, where the party was given a full table and a specialised menu with starters and gourmet pizzas as main. The cost was $30 per guest (not including beverages). The venue has both indoor and outdoor seating, as well as a gorgeous lawn area where you can relax on a blanket.

Definitely worth a trip over the West Gate.
