A scene from Black Comedy by Peter Schaffer
Nambour's Lind Theatre is presenting a smorgasbord of lively theatre offerings with their one-act play festival,
Shades of Red, White & Black. Three very different plays are being directed by first-time directors to the Lind.
In
Black Comedy, by Peter Shaffer (author of Equus, Amadeus, Royal Hunt of the Sun), lovesick and desperate sculptor Brindsley Miller has embellished his apartment with furniture and objects d'arte "borrowed" from the absent antique collector next door hoping to impress his fiancee's pompous father and a wealthy art dealer, Bamberger. The fussy neighbour, Harold Gorringe returns just as a blown fuse plunges the apartment into darkness and Brindsley is revealed teetering on the verge of very ripe farce.
Directed by Catherine Steers.

Blood on Canvas
Blood on Canvas, by Richard James, is a tense thriller. Maddie has established herself as a successful artist, but her studio and gallery are situated in a remote area.
When art collector Stella arrives, it becomes clear that one of them is an imposter but who is deceiving who and to what end…and so the game begins and the tension mounts to the shocking conclusion.
Directed by Colin Grevett.

Skirmishes
Skirmishes by Catherine Hayes is directed by Angela Braby. An old lady is dying. At her bedside sits her eldest daughter Jean, who has nursed her throughout. When the other sister Rita arrives, the daughters angrily bicker and bait each other, gradually revealing the miserable unhappiness of their own lives.
Season dates and times are February 16 - 18 at 7.30pm and a Matinee on February 18 at 2pm.
