Gin is one of those drinks which has in recent years enjoyed a resurgence of popularity. Deriving its predominant flavour from juniper berries, gin comes from a variety of origins, styles and flavour profiles.

Evolving from a herbal medicine and developed based on an old Dutch liquor called jenever, gin became popular in Great Britain around the late 1600s when William of Orange occupied the English, Scottish and Irish thrones with his wife Mary.

Since then, the popularity of gin has peaked and waned, but can be nothing but encouraged to trend with the creation of the Seven Deadly Gins by Applewood Distillery in the Adelaide Hills.

The Seven Deadly Gins include Pride, Lust, Envy, Sloth, Wrath, Greed and Gluttony, leaving no doubt as to the quality of the contents.

On Friday 23 February 2018, Thrift Shop Bar on Waymouth Place is giving you the opportunity to try any or all of the Seven Deadly Gins. From 5 pm to 8 pm, for just $60 you get to sample each gin with a choice of mixer or garnish while enjoying antipasto and cheese boards.

Local gypsy jazz band Monsieur Swing will be there giving you plenty of opportunity to dance the night away, while and after you have finished sampling those deadly gins!

Tickets are essential and are selling fast. Message on Facebook or call 8231 4331 to book.
