The Sesame Street gang are all set to return to Australia with Life Like Touring and Sesame Workshop, in another performance set to both educate and entertain your toddlers and pre-schoolers in typical fast-moving live action Sesame style.
The return of Sesame Street Presents Elmo's World Tour, introduces the colourful crew to Aussie cities, with Abby Cadabby, Big Bird, Grover, Zoe, Cookie Monster and Elmo using letters of the alphabet to navigate a voyage through imagination that sees them visiting China, Zambia, France, India and Australia.
Just like Sesame Street's popular television show, Elmo and his friends will bring forth fun educational exercises into the act, as your kids will learn how to sing, dance and say hello in countries around the world. Things don't always go to plan though, when Cookie Monster gets up to his usual tricks and eats the letter 'C'!
Not forgetting other prominent characters of the show, The Count will make an appearance telling a sensational tale to the audience and travelling rubber duckies need some help to find a place to stay with Bert and Ernie. The Sesame Street gang also meet a new friend, the gregarious, globe-trotter from the Gold Coast – Lady Baa Baa – proving its more fun to be mutton than lamb.
Sesame Street first aired on ABC Australian television in 1971, and has since then developed into what is now the most widely viewed children's television show in the world. Sesame Street programs are now seen in over 150 countries, translated into many languages. Sesame Street has won 10 Grammy Awards and 138 Emmy Awards - more than any other children's TV program.
Commencing October 2014, Sesame Street Presents Elmo's World Tour will perform at the following theatre's throughout Australia:
