Looking for a place near Newmarket to dine nearly always makes us drive to Wilston's Kedron Brook Road. Kedron Brook Road has an amazing choice of places to eat at. On a particular night we ended up discovering Serotina Restaurant. From the outside it is a little deceptive and by no means reveals the delights we discovered within. We have driven past many a time before and we were so glad we did as we were quite impressed with what we discovered, especially our taste buds.



We have actually returned a couple of times and have had the chance to try several of the dishes on the menu, being equally impressed each time with what we chose to eat.

We discovered that the staff is very friendly, making you feel at home and offering recommendations on the menu which we have been quite happy with.

The first time we ate here, my husband chose the Salt and Pepper Cuttlefish, dusted with Mediterranean seasoning served with a mixed leaf salad. It was seasoned well and not battered and thus was melted in your mouth delicious. Happy!


My choice was the roasted pumpkin, spinach and feta salad with chicken kebabs which was light and fresh.



The second time we dined here with our children, we chose something a little more substantial. My husband's main was the restaurant's special slow roasted lamb shank on creamy mash. He was extremely happy with his choice and described it as "lick your dish delicious". My son chose the chicken breast wrapped in prosciutto, with seasoned mash, broccolini topped with creamy mushroom ragu. A clean and empty plate told us that he enjoyed it.
My main was the barbecue salmon with braised Asian greens with maple and seeded mustard glaze. Again, it was tasty, fresh and very satisfying.



The dessert choice of the night was chocolate soufflé with vanilla bean ice cream. It was very nicely presented and very decadent - yummy.



All in all, we were extremely contented and happy. The service and food were very good. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. Serotina is open for breakfast on Saturday and Sunday as well as for dinner Wednesday to Sunday and lunch Friday to Sunday. It is also a fully licensed restaurant. There is street parking available. On both occasions we have been able to get a seat without reserving a table.

From the outside the restaurant is somewhat hidden behind fairy lit bushes and the sign for the upstairs establishment "Living Here"

Our next meal here to delight our taste buds would have to breakfast. I can't wait!
