Serendipity: an aptitude for making desirable discoveries by accident.

Rising artist Tracey Hansell's exhibition "Serendipity" is the prefect desirable discovery at this year's SALA Festival.
Her photographic and charcoal musings are enchanting, soulful and inspiring.

When I asked Tracey what serendipity meant to her she responded,

"Stopping to smell the roses no matter where you are, making light of every situation and just enjoying the moment. This is something I endeavour to capture in my artworks; whether it's a tiny droplet of water, the sun glistening off the window or the spirit of a random moment."

The art truly captures the unexpected and the over-looked. The photographs manage to bring life and vibrancy to what may normally be considered mundane. Tracey's work is uplifting and wills us to stop and see the beauty in our everyday life.

"The art is inspired by everything that is around us, everything we see, touch, smell, and feel has a story to tell, an inner beauty just waiting to be captured. Waiting to be enjoyed by the world - that is what inspires the art."

I was truly moved by her ability to take something simple and make it beautiful!

This exhibit is well worth a look in, so check it out at over at 'Covet' next time you're in Prospect. If you happen to go in there by mistake I can assure you that you will experience your own serendipity.

The exhibition has been dedicated to Steve Young 05.09.79 31.07.13, who Tracey saw as "the epitome of serendipity and who definitely made the world beautiful." In addition, 50% of the sales from the exhibited pieces will be donated to the "Forever Young Fund" which has been created in his honour, to raise funds for families living with Autism.

You can catch more of Tracey's work online.
