I set out to visit the Old Fire Station Gallery on a Saturday afternoon to see what events were coming up and walked into the opening of an exhibition for members of the Redcliffe Art Society, called 'Serendipity'. Now that's Serendipity!
The exhibition in the Old Fire Station consisted of many works from both novice and experienced artists who are members of the Society, and there was great delight as the winners and runners up were announced.
The exhibition is open until July 29th and everyone is welcome to visit from Wednesday to Sunday from 10 am to 3 pm.
Old Fire Station Gallery
The Old Fire Station has been home of the Art Society for several years, where they conduct a range of weekly art classes and regular workshops by renowned artists. There's also a great opportunity for volunteering too. Check the website at www.redcliffeartsociety.com.au
The winner of the First Prize for the Experienced Artists was Donna Hawkins and President Catherine McLeod was awarded Second Prize. Joan McGufficke won First Prize for the Novice Section with her work "Below the Surface".
