Keep the Kids Amused these Holidays
With school holidays quickly approaching, here is a simple list of fun activities to keep your troops occupied.

Brisbane Light Festival

Stunning Light Garden

Part of the Brisbane Festival, this "stunning bamboo forest featuring ornate handmade lanterns and lights will illuminate the Cultural Forecourt every night of the Festival".
Pack a picnic and make this a free night out. Make sure you take your camera to capture this beauty.

Library Activities

The Brisbane City Council Libraries have tonnes of free and cheap children's activities to enjoy over the school holidays. Full info can be found on the council website, but here are my top three picks:
1. Makers Space - Art and craft fun for all ages
2. Knit a Mitred Square: BYO ball of wall and learn how to knit like nanna.
3. Make your Own Wings. Make a unique set of cosplay wings for your school holiday adventures.

Investig-8 Art and other Bazil Grumble fun
Join in the fun land of creativity and learning with Bazil Grumble. This travelling road show of Arts, Education and Children's Theatre specialists has a range of activities you can get involved for next to nothing. Where the Wild Things are Story telling, Art Activities, Monster Masquerade Balls and much, much more.

Get up close and personal with a Croc
Make a family day out at Australia Zoo. Loads to see and do, including a tour of the Animal Wildlife Hospital. You will be glad you did. Pack some food and drink to save some cash on the day.

Head out to Underwater World Sea Life Aquarium
This oldie but, definitely a goodie, is a great day out with the kids. Prices are reasonable, and it's enjoyable for children and adults alike.

Have some old fashioned fun at Yatala Drive-In

With three fields, and options for Movie Marathons, you can use the Traditional Speakers and/or upgrade to the FM Car Stereo for your surround sound. Bring your blankets and enjoy the fresh outdoors with friends and family.

Checkout their current movies for more information.

I'd love to hear what other activities you have planned for your troops.
