There are some fantastic workshops happening for the kids these September school holidays. With everything from cooking classes to creating their very own inspirational pieces of art, here are my top three picks:
👩🍳 Kids School Holiday Cooking Classes

Red Hot Chilli Pepper in Caloundra are running two hour cooking classes for children during the school holidays. With only four kids to a class, everyone gets a task to help with cooking lunch. Food, drink, morning tea and an activity are all included in the Kids School Holiday Cooking Classes. Children are given recipes to take home.

For the first time, Wild-Craft Workshops are hosting a FAMILY Acrylic Pour Workshop. These workshops have always been adults only, but for the September school holidays the Acrylic Family Pour is being offered to families and their children, aged eight and over.
Parents can drop the children off or join in for a family afternoon of fun and creativity.
In the Acrylic Family Pour School Holiday Workshop students will be shown how to create a simple yet spectacular art piece, that will dance its way all around the canvas. After watching the instructor, participants will be given step by step instructions on choosing colours, mixing them and then how to apply them onto the canvas. As this is a 'family pour' there will be sufficient instruction and guidance for all participants to be confident in their pour.
This can be quite a messy workshop, so please ensure that correct i.e. 'old' clothing and suitable footwear is worn.
Please note that the canvas will stay wet for up to 48 hours plus will need an extra few days to cure, so students are requested to bring a box large enough to fit a 30x30cm canvas, in order to take the canvas home.

A fabulous workshop to create your very own totally unique dreamcatcher for your bedroom or perhaps as a gift for somebody special. In the Dreamcatcher Workshop, participants will be guided on how to design their very own quirky dream catcher.
Traditionally, an array of strings and small beads would be used to weave the web of the dream catcher, but in this exciting school holiday workshop, students will be using denim strips and lace to create a new style dream catcher. Once students have wrapped and tied all the denim and lace, they will get to choose their own beads and feathers to finish off their creative masterpieces.
All materials and instructions will be supplied during the workshop

'Creative entertainment' is time well spent in my book. Children will absolutely love the uniqueness of these school holiday workshops and having their very own keepsakes to take home, is sure to add to the allure of getting out and about and ... creative. These workshops, proudly brought to you by Downtown Caloundra, are extremely popular and with limited spots, early booking is essential.
