Art is Everywhere in this Country Gallery
Sentiments is a SALA exhibition showing at Magpie Springs Gallery. It showcases a selection of work by Elaine Cheng, Erika Walter and Portrait Artist Avril Thomas. Magpie Springs is a delightfully cosy gallery in the Adelaide hills region, about five minutes up Old Willunga Hill from Willunga.
Elaine Cheng Elaine Cheng is an emerging artist and a part time graphic/web designer. She has a passion for illustration and has also included some sketchbooks in the exhibition, plus one for visitors to leave comments. Her sketches give just enough detail to set a scene. Her framed works are small and refined images.
Erika Walter is a sculptor who is an established artist. Her works on view focus on the female form. They are stylish and elegant forms. Erika will be at Magpie Spring Gallery to talk on her works on August 9th at 2pm.
Avril Thomas is an established portrait artist who in her spare time runs Magpie Springs Gallery – art, wine, coffee. Plus Southern Boulder rock climbing, a vineyard and wine label and huge garden. The gallery exhibition opening was a huge success with people gathering from all walks of life to hear the visiting speaker, former lecturer of Elaine Cheng, Katie Cavanagh from Flinders University.
This is art with finesse and style. The gallery is a warm place to escape to with either a cuppa or wine in your hand. The country ambience and views are worth the visit alone. The gallery opening hours are strictly Friday, Saturday, Sunday, public holidays: 11am to 5pm.
