Senior Moments - A Play

After two smash-hit Sydney seasons, the hilarious comedy revue Senior Moments is back for its first national tour from February 2018.

Many of us "seniors" know exactly what it is like to have a "seniors moment" - an excuse when you forget something, like the name of your best friend! This play will leave everyone laughing and what could be better for us all than having a good, loud laugh or a "LOL" as we now say.

John Wood, Benita Collings and Max Gillies are having some 'Senior Moments', with Geoff Harvey on piano. It is a comedy revue about "old" people, and the young people they have to deal with.

This is a revue with sketches and songs and performers who are old enough to know better, all making wicked fun of the trials and tribulations of growing old disgracefully.

It is written by Angus FitzSimons and Kevin Brumpton, directed by Angus FitzSimons, and produced by Kevin Brumpton and Angus FitzSimons.

It is a play that is a deliciously funny and has a fresh collection of comical senior moments, scenes and songs, all joined together in traditional revue-style to give you a show full of fun and frivolity - and to stop you from thinking constantly about your arthritis for at least 90 minutes! It's a seriously silly show for otherwise sensible seniors.

It has a large cast and is classed as a show for a prime audience, older people with adult children, all of whom are looking for a good, old-fashioned comedy show with songs and fun. Not a coarse word to be heard throughout!

Featuring a cast of veteran performers including:

  • Gold Logie award winner John Wood (Blue Heelers, Rafferty's Rules)

  • Play School icon Benita Collings (Play School, Sleeping Beauty)

  • Master satirist Max Gillies (The Gillies Report, Once Were Leaders)

  • And more.

  • It also has former Channel 9 Midday legendary maestro Geoff Harvey on piano.

Light-hearted, fun and a little bit naughty whilst always remaining nice, Senior Moments features sketches such as 'Senior Mastermind' and 'Old School' (like Romper Room meets Play School for the neglected over-65 age group), and musical highlights like 'I Am the Very Model of a Modern Age Retiree'.

At last, audiences young and old can have some 'Senior Moments' they'll want to remember! The 90-minute show is a blend of gripes about the modern world, younger generations and growing old; digs at stereotypes, bad habits and trying to keep up; and memories of music, popular culture and simpler times. A number of songs including the obligatory Gilbert and Sullivan number, sea shanty and bush ballad have been adapted with clever new lyrics and popular television shows have been modified for the ageing audience.

Come along to Senior Moments: a seriously funny revue for slightly old people. (That's you. Be honest.)

Here is a short video clip on this show:
