Having lived and worked in the Sutherland Shire for well over 36 years you tend to grow very fond of what happens in the Shire. It's a place where there is so much to see and do, that you could spend two lifetimes and not see and do everything that it has on offer.

Where I live our backyard is virtually right on the bush and over the years we have planted a variety of native trees and bushes with a few other thrown in. It is great to be working in the garden and to have kookaburras, parrots and rosellas fly down to either dig for worms or feed on the sweet nectar of the natives.

Now don't get me wrong I am not what you may call a tree hugger, but I do respect our bush and its surroundings, because if we mistreat it we will lose it.
