Spring not only makes trees blossom, but it brings out a colourful collection of events too. The Semaphore Street Fair offers a balanced combination of beachside entertainment and market stalls in the picturesque Semaphore Road shopping precinct.
Semaphore Road will be closed to traffic so that visitors can take full advantage of the extra space to wander freely between more than 80 stalls which will complement the eclectic mix of businesses normally found there.
Kids will be catered for of course, with face painting, bouncy castles, ride on cars, roving clowns and the steam train along the Esplanade which ends near the Palais Semaphore. Many stalls will have a special focus for children too with cupcakes, craft, big bubbles, biscuit making, costumes and clothing for kids.
You can be sure will be entranced by the Pet Parade too, which returns this year.
There will also be a special Ladies area with stalls brimming with beauty and pamper products, jewellery, readings, fashion, and gifts. You can relax and taste organic wines while being entertained with fashion parades, belly dancing, Zumba and Rock'n roll displays on the Ladies Stage.
Live music will feature bands having a mix of influences from around the world, supported by dance troupes and solo artists to entertain you while you enjoy the alfresco dining facilities.
So bring the kids, your pet or just someone special and join in the fun of the fair again this year. And while you're down there, take a stroll around to discover some of Semaphore's stranger structures.
