The Semaphore Beach skyline is all set to be lit up with the colour of fabulous kites for the Adelaide International Kite Festival over the Easter long weekend from 11-13 April 2020 from 11am to 5pm each day. Kites of all shapes and sizes will fly as they twist and twirl high up in the sky. International guest kite flyers feature alongside interstate and local South Australians too
Stallholders at the Festival Marketplace will be selling their wares and running activities to engage everyone and will be situated on the foreshore for the duration of the event each day. Get the kids cracking for the 2020 colouring-in competition, be it with pencils, textas, crayons or even collages. Prizes will be awarded in each category as listed on the image below. Expert kite flying judges will be deciding the winners. Submissions can be posted to the PO Box or dropped in to the Semaphore Library before closing date Thursday 9 April 2020.
PLEASE NOTE: At this stage you can keep the date in your diary for this incredible event, however, keep a close ear to the ground via the event page, Facebook page or Instagram for event updates. We are all aware of the current climate in regards to COVID-19. The fate of this event is very much under review, putting public health and safety as its highest priority.
Totally agree. Hundreds of articles written before Covid-19 n lockdown (articles can b written up to a month n more ahead of the event to gather a larger audience for the success of the event) r out there n we urge all readers to check with the event, n they will probably find they’ve all been cancelled.
