I am undertaking a double degree in Bachelor of Journalism, Bachelor of International Relations while living in Adelaide's Northern Suburbs. I have enjoyed writing and telling others of great things to do in this amazing city!

Fun for family, mates or even a date

There is nothing worse than a hot day, except maybe a hot, boring day.

A favourite past time for many Australians is to hang out beachside.

The best time to be by the beach is late afternoon. Semaphore beach is a clear, clean beach with plenty of sand to pull up a towel on. Its family friendly with dogs walked on leads and facilities are maintained.

On a hot day, turning up to Semaphore in the afternoon is simply wonderful. The beach is serene and the sound of children playing in and out of the waves awakens the inner child in everyone.

Passing the afternoon swimming in the waves or walking between Semaphore and Largs Bay is calming and cooling as well as fun.

By the time you've had your fill of the waves (if that's possible!) it's close enough to dinner time that a short walk up Semaphore Road to the Dominos outlet.

At Dominos you experience both friendly service and great tasting pizza.

Once the pizza has been acquired, a short stroll back to the grass area at Semaphore beach will provide a soft spot and an excellent view of the beach and the setting sun while you enjoy your pizza.

This is great to do by yourself, with your family, a group of friends (just split the cost of the pizzas) or even as a date!

I think I'll head to Semaphore now!
