Beat the Bullies with a Strong Sense of Self
Come along to an interactive two hour workshop by Mind Heart Body. It will focus on providing practical tools to improve self esteem, confidence and general wellbeing.

The workshop has three components. There will be a cooking demo and mini boot camp! The third focus is on having a healthy self-esteem.

Self-esteem is how you feel about yourself. It is a good predictor of future success. The child that thinks 'I am happy to be me,' is more able to make good adolescent decisions, engage in fulfilling relationships and grow into a well adjusted adult.

Most children will travel a roller coaster of highs and lows of self-esteem as they go through different stages and cope with the various challenges of life. Teenagers with low self-esteem can find it very hard to cope with pressures from school, peers and society. Building self-esteem in adolescence is a core component of bullying prevention, and general resilience to life. With a healthy self-esteem, children will not only be more confident, but they also will be able to identify their strengths and be their own best friend.

Children who are confident and resourceful are more likely to be assertive and stand up for themselves without fighting. They are better prepared for avoiding dangerous situations and dealing with bullies.

If you would like give your child's confidence and wellbeing a boost, enrol them in Self Esteem -The Trifecta at the Holdfast Bay Community Centre in King George Avenue, Hove. Children aged 12 to 18 years are eligible to register. Bookings can be made at:
