Have a great play on the Segway out Seppeltsfield way
We've all seen those silly looking two wheeled electric powered vehicles on TV, either at the cricket or being used by Security firms or by the Police as aids to crowd control, or by some eco-friendly commuters, or as vehicles for tourists to move around on. We've all dreamed of our chance to have a ride on one of these ..... Well now our dreams are about to come true.
The Segway Trailer
From November, Segway Sensations SA and Seppeltsfield are introducing South Australia's first and only guided Segway Tours. Cindy Chynoweth and Shane Camilleri, owners of the company, will be hosting guided tours from Seppeltsfield. Tours of the Seppeltsfield Estate and the vineyards last around an hour, and depart the Seppeltsfield Winery Car Park at 10am, 12 noon and 2pm.
For those unaware, in technical talk, the Segway Personal Transporter (PT) is a two-wheeled, self-balancing, battery-powered electric vehicle invented by Dean Kamen that looks like a vertical standing old manual lawnmower. The name Segway is derived from the word segue, meaning smooth transition.
There is nothing that quite compares to gliding on a Segway PT. The unique and smart design automatically senses and responds to the body's forward or backward movements, making it simple to learn and operate for people of all ages. And the exhilarating sensation that you get every time you take off on this self-balancing, intelligent machine will have you wanting more and more !
So get ready to roll on one of the most incredible, modern machines in the world in one of Australia's premier wineries. Tours are every Saturday, Sunday and Public Holiday, and cost $99 per person for a one hour tour or $127 per person for a one hour tour plus a lunch package. Further details are available from their facebook page or from their website.
And of course, if you are at Seppeltsfield, then make sure that you complete a full and enjoyable day out by combining the Segway Tour with a visit to the Jam Factory, a tasting from the newly renovated Seppeltsfield Cellar Door and a meal from the soon-to-be-opened Finos of Seppeltsfield (from 22 November).
