From the moment I stepped into the Segenhoe Inn, I was welcomed with an ambiance of foregone times. Contemporary country living mingled with historic Victoriana pieces, this heritage property (built ca. 1837) echoes narratives of colonial Australia from corner to corner. A beautiful and intimate boutique hotel, the Segenhoe boasts original architecture encasing a storehouse of antiques and décor to keep with its olde-worlde charm. Its management is personable and hospitable, offering superlative service and dining - while each room is maintained and decorated attractively - taking inspiration from the legacy of its founder, Sir Thomas Potter Macqueen (1791–1854).
