Cabaret Performers Stripped Bare
Behind every performer is a story. Cabaret performers classically build a facade and hide behind it. So if you've ever wondered what the personality behind the facade is like, then don't miss this show.

In Seen & Heard - Storytelling Cabaret, currently playing at The Butterfly Club, at 5 Carson Lane, Melbourne, we see some of Melbourne's finest variety artists not only strutting their stuff, but also revealing true tales of their lives behind the limelight.

There is a rolling cast playing in Seen & Heard, meaning you could attend on different nights and see a quite different show. Over the six nights, you may see host Becky Lou being joined by singer/songwriter Mojo Juju, cabaret queen Tina Del Twist, vaudeville comedian Clara Cupcakes, drag star Karen From Finance, striptease artiste Frankie Valentine or chanteuse Jessamae St James. Karen from Finance - what factors led to a drag queen career?

I've never seen a show like this before. It is a unique blend of entertainment and pathos, with each performer dropping their cabaret persona for part of their performance in favour of the 'real' person. What has led them to a career in cabaret? What factors influenced their choice? I really don't want to steal their thunder, I think it preferable that you hear the stories from the horses' mouths (so to speak!).

I greatly enjoyed this show. It is clever, fresh, raw and insightful. The host Becky Lou also curates and directs the show. Named in the UK's 21st Century Burlesque Magazine's list of Top 10 Australian Burlesque Personalities, Becky Lou has strong credentials behind her.

I'm not sure how Becky Lou persuaded the other performers to join her in publicly revealing something of themselves, but I can say that this is a most entertaining and original show, and definitely a show with a twist.
