Fans of the Clare Valley will probably be familiar with Seed Kitchen & Winehouse, an award-winning restaurant opened in 2014 in an old farmhouse in Clare. After five years in its original location, the Seed team have embarked upon an expansive renovation of the former Commonwealth Bank building in 2020 and is now enjoying its exciting relaunch as Seed Clare Valley in its new venue with a custom-built rooftop bar.
Seed Clare Valley is launching in stages, with distinct Rooftop, Bistro and Deli sections being developed one by one. The new Rooftop opened in early March, perched high above the township of Clare with sweeping views along the main street and surrounds.
A rustic vibe features predominantly here - a cosy industrial aesthetic includes exposed red brick, polished concrete, matte black, timber and corrugated iron, which continues through to the assortment of wooden serving boards and ceramic tableware. The Rooftop has you covered for any weather too – with roof louvres, blinds and heaters you'll be comfortable all through the coming winter season.
At the time of writing this article, the downstairs Bistro has also just opened for evening dining, serving European-style shared plates or a group table menu - this writer will be sure to check it out soon!
Outside the building, be sure to take notice of the mural artwork by street artist EJ Zyla, transforming the old building into a modern inviting new façade.
