Seed Bomb - a comedy a moral message
Seed Bomb is a hilarious comedy with an unusual storyline. It will appeal to those that dream of a better life waiting to bloom.

Written by Daniela Gorgi and directed by Paul Gilchrist, Daniela Georgi has produced twenty original shows. Also as a writer, she has written some great works. Paul Gilchrist is a writer and director with a wealth of works produced in Sydney and overseas.

The main character, Kat, dreams of moving to the countryside for peace and tranquillity. However, when she meets a strange bike-riding anarchist guerrilla gardener with a mission on his mind, things don't go as planned. He is carrying a load of seed bombs. He hopes to transform vacant lots into food forests and flower beds.

Seed Bomb - A hilarious comedy with a moral message

Seed Bomb is performed by the small independent theatre company Sublenuance. It has a real place of pride in the arts. One of Sydney's best.

Last night, I was invited to go to the opening night of Seed Bomb and found it very entertaining. It is funny with some powerful messages about the society we live in at the moment, keeping our planet green and the toxicity of city living and the problems of overpopulation.

The play also shows the complexities of living in the country in a modern society. Worries about employment, lack of social services and entertainment. Kat's partner Toby played by Julian Ramundi gives a good performance as a very caring man, who wants to make Kat happy. He buys her that perfect house in the country. Then he finds it is not really what she desires.

Kat has found a passion with her new found friends want to make green spaces within the city. Pax, played by Matthew Abotomey, and Gridlock, played by Kate Bookallil, have inspired Kat's imagination to create beauty for city dwellers to enjoy.

I found the character of Pax, played by Mathew Abotomey, very believable. A great characterisation of a caring man trying to open people's eyes to the beauty all around them. The female role of Kat, played by Sonya Kerr, was a good one of an independent woman with strong beliefs of personal freedom and social morality,

Gridlock, played by Kate Bookallil, is a powerful performance of an angry young woman with extreme beliefs and anger.

Lindsey Chapman's performance as Pru, an investment advisor, is humorous and entertaining. Though exaggerated, it is somewhat true about the falseness and dishonesty of many investment advisors when giving financial advice.

All the performers showed talent. I thoroughly enjoyed Seed Bomb. If you want a good night at the theatre, Seed Bomb is a little gem It is well-acted, fun and very relevant to today. Seed Bomb is only running for a short time, so be quick, you won't be sorry.
