A retired business owner, my passions are cooking, photography and eating. I use all three of these when I write for recipeyum.com.au which is on HubGarden
Event:
Stock up on gifts at the Seddon handmade markets
To market, to market, to buy a fat pig as the saying goes! Well, at these markets, you won't find a pig, but you will find wares that are far more interesting and useful than a fat pig.

The Seddon Makers Market is back this September and is sure to have some great finds! There are heaps of articles you will be able to browse through here, and there should be something for everyone.

You can shake off the winter chill and go to these spring markets for some quality handmade goods. Seddon Markets are an indoor/outdoor market, which was formerly called the Maribyrnong Makers Market. It is a not-for-profit community-based arts and craft market run by a local volunteer group, MMG (Maribyrnong Makers Group).

At each of these markets, sellers are carefully selected to make sure you get a diverse and interesting range of goods. There are many talented makers that work hard to craft their unique pieces. These items range from jewellery, accessories, homewares, textiles, art, natural skin and body care, as well as children's wear and toys. And food will not be forgotten as many of us get hungry while browsing - there will be some delicious food and freshly brewed coffee and cider!

food
Food, food, glorious food!

The good thing about these markets is that you meet the actual makers of the fantastic items on display, and for sale. You can chat with them and even learn about their passion for their hand-made items. There will be about 50 stalls at this market, and there will also be a sausage sizzle.

Some of the vendors at this market include:

Misty's Caramel Sauce
Twins Pantry & Eat Sweet Indulgence - nougat and meringues
Kennedy Smith Soy Candles
Jewellery - Colourwork, Kathleen Benham, and Snafu Designs
Green Empire St - indoor plants
Harli & Dash - art
YaLu Apothecary - skincare
Study of Colour and Ceramic Rituals - home-wares
Coffee
Cider
Hot food
Children's face painting
Greediebird
The Little Blah
Plus more

Access to these market can be via:
Car (please note parking restrictions in neighbouring streets)
Bus (stops along Gamon Street)
Train (Seddon Station is approximately 5 minutes walk to the venue)

ATMs and EFTPOS
Most stallholders will have EFTPOS facilities available but it would be a good idea to bring some cash along as well!

It would be terribly disappointing if there is something you really liked and wanted and that particular vendor did not have the facilities for credit. There are NO ATMs on site and the nearest one is on Charles Street, Seddon.

The market will be held on Saturday 1st September, 2018 from 9.30 am until 3.00 pm. The venue is the Seddon Uniting Church Hall, Corner Gamon and Mackay Streets, Seddon. You can register at this webpage.

Please note: Dogs are not allowed on the market grounds.

The next market after the September one will be held on Saturday, 17th November 2018.

For more information about these markets, please go to the Seddon Makers Market website.
