Seddon Village at the corner of Charles and Victoria streets, Seddon is going to be colourful and entertaining on Saturday 5 March 2016 from 11am to 6pm.
Hosted by the Seddon Community Group Inc, and sponsored by the Maribyrnong City Council and key corporate and community partners, it's a day of fun and activities for adults and kids alike. With market stalls to keep the grownups happy and roving entertainers to put a smile on the face of the little ones, it's the place to be.
Seddon Festival is a free community street festival that has been going since 1998 in Melbourne's inner west. There's food and drink, family activities, entertainment and of course, music.
Part of the success of the festival is the involvement of the passionate volunteers. If you'd like to volunteer, get in touch.
There'll be a few legends of music like the great Australian rock singer-songwriter and writer Stephen Cummings; one of the country's finest rock guitarists and original member of Daddy Cool, Ross Hannaford; and Ska Vendors with their big joyful sounds that make you feel like dancing, to name a few. Check the website for details of more entertainment.
Some of the roving entertainment will be a blast from the past like About Face Productions who will be bringing theatre to the streets. The Great Gizmo is a complete circus in one body and will intrigue and delight young and old alike for he is a juggler, a magician, a clown and a ring master.
A festival would not be complete without a couple of Tall Poppy Stilt Walkers and even some garden gnomes all the way from The Netherlands. Perky and Fiddle are a mixture of comedy, street theatre and puppetry. Even though their performance is non-verbal, it works for them and it's appealing to adults and children alike.
Check out the website for updates and more details about the entertainment to enjoy on the day.
