Mon 17 Oct 2016 - Fri 21 Oct 2016

Between October 17-21 2016, the secret gardens of the Dandenong Ranges - in all their spring glory - will be open to the public as part of several exclusive full-day luxury tours.

Passionate gardeners, join your tour guide on the air-conditioned coach leaving Olinda at 9.00am daily. Enjoy gourmet refreshments and expert commentary while exploring the day's selection of exquisite private gardens.

The coach will bring you back to Olinda between 5.45-6.45pm. ( Check the website for detailed daily itineraries ).

Spectacular Gardens in the Dandenong Ranges

From award-winning landscape designer, Phillip Johnson's ecologically-integrated garden in Olinda to the quintessential English cottage garden, 'The Nook', your senses will be filled up by foxgloves, delphiniums and roses; clematis salvias, azaleas and rhododendrons - all in the lush surrounds of Melbourne's Dandenong Ranges in spring.

Expert Guides to Enrich Your Experience in the Secret Gardens

Learn about the fascinating history behind the secret gardens as well as their modern day special features and treasures from expert gardeners.

Eddie Wasbutzki is a local passionate gardener and plant expert with 30 years botanical experience. He currently holds the position of Head Gardener at the historically significant Beechmont Gardens in Olinda and is a garden guide with Botanica.

Robyn Menhennit is a garden design expert who was responsible for some of the botanical creations - including a Japanese garden - as head gardener at Melbourne's Methodist Ladies' College. Her local Dandenong Ranges knowledge is enhanced by her recent experience as a team member at Cloudehill Nursery in Olinda.

Gourmet Dining Experiences

Refreshment stops vary with the itineraries each day. Depending on the day you choose to join in, you may find yourself partaking in a gourmet lunch at Cloudehill Nursery, wine and canapes at William Ricketts Sanctuary or enjoying the magnificent view from Sky High Scenic Restaurant at the top of Mount Dandenong.
