What the Blumenthal is ? Well, you lucky duck, it is the most exclusive dinner party going round and the brilliant initiative of Anglicare Victoria in a quest to put perspective on how a small gesture can make a big difference.
On Saturday, 21 March 2015, Anglicare are asking that private hosts throughout Victoria (that's you) organise any culinary event, be it a civilised dinner for two, a cocktail party for a crowd or a street party for hundreds, with each hosted event raising a minimum of $525 for Anglicare Victoria's homeless. The $525 tag is the cost of a dinner planned, prepared and presented by Heston Blumenthal OBE, the internationally acclaimed Michelin-starred chef, at his Fat Duck Melbourne restaurant. Mr Blumenthal has swapped London for Melbourne for six months while crucial renovations are completed for Fat Duck Bray, near London.
"More than 89,000 people were prepared to part with $525 each for the chance to experience the iconic cooking of Heston Blumenthal, but only 14,000 were rewarded with that chance in the global ballot," says a spokesperson for Anglicare. "The idea behind is simple. It is about bringing people together to enjoy a meal while raising money to support Victoria's most vulnerable."
Restaurants and pubs will also be able to host on Wednesday 18 March 2015, bringing their own initiatives to the Fat Duck and theme in the name of raising funds for Anglicare's homeless people and disadvantaged families.

Heston-ate another second. Get
