This time of year can be very expensive for families with Christmas, school holidays, and then back-to-school uniforms, books, and stationery. The expenses just never seem to stop and some families simply can't afford it all. Unfortunately for some kids this means going to school without pencils and notebooks. Education is vitally important for a child to achieve well in life, but without these basic learning tools, it is difficult for a child to make the most out of their education.



That's where aims to make a difference. Founder Natalie Wall went looking through her drawers before going on the annual back-to-school shopping trip and discovered that she already had more than enough stationery on hand. When she discovered her friends were in the same situation, was born.

collects, cleans, sorts and packs donated stationery and then works with various organisations to deliver the packs to kids who are in need. By giving a purpose to excess stationery that would have ended up in the bin in the next drawer cleanup, are also helping to reduce landfill.



Stanhope Village shopping centre, in Stanhope Gardens, has partnered with this year for a collection drive that will benefit kids via Blacktown Women's and Girls' Health Centre and Junaya Family Development Services. Stanhope Village is hosting a collection point at their shopping centre out the front of the Commonwealth Bank.

This would be a great activity to get the kids involved in these school holidays as they get their stationery ready for the start of the school year. Perhaps you can even get them to clean their drawers out while they do it!
