Humongous fundraising garage sale at Seaworks
Spring cleaning is well underway as thousands of Melburnian's sort and sift through their unwanted's in time for the National Garage Sale Trail taking place around the country on 25 October.

If you can't bear to wait that long, fear not, a humongous garage sale heads to Melbourne's waterfront suburb of Williamstown on 28 September.

Second Hand Heaven @ Seaworks

Second Hand Heaven is a community mega-garage sale run by The Rotary Club of Point Gellibrand which takes place within The Big Shed at Seaworks Maritime Precinct.

Early birds can start fossicking at 8am amongst a massive collection of recycled goods. Stallholders offer a vast array of preloved items including books, furniture, clothing, bric-a-brac, vinyl, game consoles, light fixtures, magazines, postcards, power tools, household items, bicycles, electronics, clocks, picture frames, glasswares, kitchen utensils, garden pots, dvds, jewellery and even toilet seats for sale.

For stallholders, this is a great way to declutter and make a little cash, with stalls costing $40, or $30 for Rotarian members. Unsold items at the end of the day can be donated to various charities whose representatives will be present on the day.

Head down to 82 Nelson Place, Williamstown on Sunday 28 September from 8am until 2pm, grab a BBQ sausage and make one persons trash your treasure at Second Hand Heaven. $2 entry, with all proceeds going to charity.

I went along today and bagged some bargains. Then went and looked around Greenpeace boats. A very good day.
