Sebastian's Habit are a lovely little jazz band I had the pleasure of enjoying on Christmas Eve at Lock'n'Load Bistro in West End.

The core of the band is two-piece: Dorian Dowse on vocals and James Todd on piano, but they regularly have guests join them, performing on double bass, saxophone and / or guitar. On the night I saw them, they were accompanied by Tina Fullerton on double bass and Warwick Hargreaves on jazz guitar. With an upbeat, swing-style jazz, they perform classics from 30s, 40s and 50s. Very palatable sounds, perfect for a pre-Christmas drink with one of my favourite fellow music appreciators.

They performed three sets on the night, bringing interpretations of songs such as the Cole Porter classic I Got You Under My Skin , The Girl From Ipanema and I Only Have Eyes For You . Truly beautiful music.

To find out where you can catch them performing, like them on Facebook here , and check out their website here .
