Seaview Cafe is located upstairs at the Bay Sailing Centre/@-32.7114484,152.0727891,15z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0x600e78a692f02b7d!8m2!3d-32.7114484!4d152.0727891 Bay Sailing Centre , right on the water at Wanda Beach . It is also located just down the road from Bannisters Port Stephens Hotel (with Rick Stein's restaurant and The Cheeky Dog Bar ), so it is often discovered by hotel guests and people who are walking along the beach. At the time of writing, it is open between 7am - 12pm each morning, so you can get up early and enjoy a hot or cold coffee and appreciate the sun coming up over Port Stephens.

This cafe doesn't have a wide range of menu items, but it doesn't matter - the coffee is great, the smoothies are delicious and there are muffins, pastries, toasts and sandwiches if you have the nibbles. This venue is all about the stunning view right across the water to the mouth of Port Stephens. It is the perfect way to start your weekend...

My family and I always arrive at this cafe by foot after walking along the beach, but if you have a car then the best place to park is to the left of the Dog/@-32.7109031,152.0717468,15z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0x342e39bf4f1fce69!8m2!3d-32.7109031!4d152.0717468 Cheeky Dog Bar and then walk down to the Soldiers Point Jetty and turn right. If you have mobility issues, be aware that there are two flights of stairs to get to the second floor.

The inside of the cafe is bright and beachy, with several tables to sit and look out of the floor-to-ceiling windows. If it isn't too hot, then the verandah is the best place to sit and take in the 180-degree views of Wanda Beach. My family enjoy sitting outside and watching schools of fish make patterns in the water, dolphins glide through the bay and kids splashing in the water in front of the cafe. It is a peaceful place to sit and soak up the beauty.

If you are interested in sailing or would like to know about the Bay Sailing Club school holiday sailing programs, then check out the Bay Sailing Club website and Facebook .

This little cafe used to be a local's secret, but word is getting out about the beauty of this little cafe and its idyllic location. We like the fact that visiting this scenic spot is also a good way to support a small business and help the local sailing club at the same time. So what are you waiting for? Why don't you go for a walk along Wanda Beach and pop up there for a coffee, this weekend?
