Located at Honeysuckle on the harbourfront at Newcastle Seasalt Restaurant provides a relaxed venue for al fresco lunches. The meals are produced using fresh seasonal locally sourced ingredients and there is a focus on seafood and prime beef.



The lunch special of two courses for $45 or three courses for $55 is great value especially when you have the option of trying a lobster thermidor open lasagne. The menu contains plenty of tasty options. The seafood chowder was deliciously creamy and full of salmon, prawns, fish, mussels and large pieces of Moreton Bay bug.





The salt & pepper squid with Asian salad and nam jim was a generous serve and went well with a glass of crisp Tulloch Verdehlo and the miso glazed 'Macleay Valley' pork belly was tender, juicy salty and sweet.



The desserts sounded tasty but we had had our fill. The menu changes regularly and the service is friendly and attentive. It is lovely sitting outside in the fresh air with the views, but on hot days dining inside in air conditioned comfort would be great.
