Seasalt Cafe & Restaurant is a scenic venue overlooking the Port Macquarie Marina, just a short distance from Sails Resort and Settlement City shopping centre. It opened a few years ago and has steadily become one of the most popular cafes in the region. The front of the cafe is fairly small, blending in as part of the marina shopfronts, however, when you walk through the door and down the stairs, you then see the beauty of this waterside location.
Seasalt is open at 6am every day for coffee and breakfast, making it popular with locals who get up early for a walk and tourists who are looking for the best way to start the day in Port Macquarie. With the sun rising over the water and lorikeets waking up in the treetops, there really is no better way to welcome another day in paradise.

On our family's visit to Seasalt, we were warmly welcomed in, encouraged to take a seat and were told to go back to the counter when we were ready to order. Although there was a spacious seating area inside with attractive décor and ambience, we were lured out to the view and the outside dining area by the water. Each table had a large umbrella, so you could take a seat and relax in the shade, whilst admiring the boats in the marina. On our visit the weather was a little overcast, however, it still had that holiday "feel", that made you instantly relax.
The menu at Seasalt is fresh, seasonal and reasonably priced. Although there was a wide array of meals to choose from, both my Mum and I couldn't go past the Blueberry Bagel with a schmear of cream cheese, topped with mixed berries, banana and maple syrup for $12. My young daughter ordered fruit toast and kids sized milkshake - which came with a chocolate freckle, much to her delight! The best part however, was going up to the counter to order and receiving a small container of fish food, for her to feed to the fish swimming just off the marina.
The highlight of our visit to Seasalt was feeding the fish - but that was before the food was delivered to our table. We were astounded with the beauty of our berry bagel dish, with maple syrup dribbling out of the side and combining with the berries and cream cheese to create a sumptuous, juicy breakfast feast. Did it taste as good as it looked? It was even better. We can't wait to go back and have it all again - and then eventually try other things on the menu!

One thing that Seasalt is also renowned for is their coffee, for good reason. They use Espresso di Manfredi coffee from Sydney, which keeps the locals going back for more and local workers lining up for their takeaways. Even if you don't know much about coffee, like me, you know what you like and what you don't like. This creamy, beautifully-made coffee is one that makes you slow down, take a moment and savour the simple things in life - such as good food, good coffee and good company.
As mentioned on their Facebook page - anytime is Seasalt time!
