Yesterday, I went to see Sean Bedlam's show called Death to America. I was half curious and half worried about the content of the show because I am not the kind of person to wish the death of anyone, but I also have strong feelings about what is happening in America since Trump was elected.

The show was at The Game Sports Bar in Aberdeen Street, Northbridge. The place was quite busy, mainly with young adults and people coming to see Fringe shows. They have 3 rooms and therefore 3 shows at the same time. Death to America was upstairs in the Skybox view.

Sean was here waiting for the public to arrive. The room is small and dark. Almost all the chairs were occupied and the show started. I was surprised to discover that the title of the show was coming from a joke between friends and that the jokes were not calling for hate against America. The show is more about a series of sketches and life stories which doesn't really relate to the title.

Sean interacted well with the public, but of the issues was the noise level of the venue, as we could hear the other shows around and Sean had a loud fan in the background. Therefore, if you go to watch the show, I suggest sitting in the front.

Sean is an activist and is known as a political comedian. His tour will soon head to the Adelaide Fringe, Melbourne International Comedy Festival and then on to Edinburgh.

You can see his show from February 6 to 11 at 8.45pm at The Game Sports Bar, 90 Aberdeen St, Northbridge
