Its already begun, so make sure you don't miss out before it all ends. A bit cryptic? Melbourne Zoo on Elliott Avenue, Parkville is the place to be from 9am to 5pm until 24 March 2016. It's cost free with entry to the zoo - another great way to spend the school holidays entertaining the kids. Adults have also been known to throw the doors open to the child in them and have fun at these events.

The Zoo's iconic Carousel Park will be transformed into a pop-up beach complete with sand, chairs, umbrellas and food stalls. The kiddies can enjoy the beach themed activities in the Keeper Kids play space at 12pm, 1.30pm and 2.30pm. You'll be having so much fun, you won't notice you're saving the seals and learning how to save our beautiful marine wildlife at the same time by being there.

Head over to Wild Sea where you'll meet charismatic pelicans, Fiddler Rays, Port Jackson Sharks and penguins, not forgetting a family of seals. They'll be putting on a show for you in the presentation arena. This seal show runs daily at 11.30am with an extra show at 1.30pm on weekends during January 2016.

Did you know you can enjoy a high tea at the zoo monthly on a Sunday? and have close-up encounters with a lemur, giraffe, giant tortoise, kangaroo, meerkat, squirrel monkey and of course the seals. There's also a 'kids go wild' school holiday program and you can also meet the keepers who take care of the animals, everyday.


However, the zoo is not just about being entertained by the animals, they also have 'live' shows in the form of the twilight series ; all in aid of helping fight wildlife extinction, so please do get on board.
