Hungry Seagulls Like Your Scraps
Seaclusion Cafe is a popular spot on the waterfront at Sylvan Beach, Bribie Island. It's a well supported venue for good coffee and great café food.

Brekky Burger with Mushrooms

I had the Brekky Burger - beef pattie, bacon, some greens, in a huge bun, and as I don't eat eggs, mushrooms were added to the plate. One of my friends had a huge omelette - which initially she felt was beyond her eating capacity, but she managed to eat it all as it was so good. She also had some sough dour toast, which she "donated" to another at the table, who rated it very highly and will order it next time. My Burger was too much for me, but we shared the leftover bun with the happy seagulls. Coffee was good too - and very hot!

Don't forget to take a camera when you go there as there are spectacular views out towards the Glasshouse Mountains, and of course all the activity on the Pumicestone Passage. Pelicans often rest near the cafe, and there are usually many seagulls waiting too, to see if you will throw some bread or chips to them. Their dietician probably doesn't recommend it, but the seagulls squawk and happily fight over each scrap that is thrown their way.

It is right near the Bribie Island Volunteer Sea Rescue building and their rescue craft is often tied up nearby waiting to do its good deeds.

It is very popular, so if you have a group going for brunch, or lunch or just coffee, it might pay you to phone ahead and book a table.

Seagulls, Pelicans,
Waiting more morning tea....

If you are heading there from the mainland, turn left at the end of the Bribie Bridge, and travel to Bibimulya St, and turn left. There's parking in front of the Café and across the road.

Opening hours are Tuesday to Friday from 9 am to 3 pm, and on Saturday and Sunday from 8 am to 4 pm.

Enjoy the views and the fare!
