Seabreeze Hotel is located in the heart of Nelson Bay on Stockton Street, opposite d'Albora Marinas. The hotel offers accommodation and a relaxed, bistro restaurant which is a favourite amongst locals and tourists for its varied menu and Mediterranean feel. If you visit in summer, they will open up their fold-back windows and you can take in the "sea breeze".
If you visit Nelson Bay on holidays, you are sure to make your way to this popular venue as a family, on your own, with your mates or on a date night with a loved one. Everyone is welcome at this happy, friendly establishment. Ensure you take your appetite...

My husband and I visited this restaurant on a windy Saturday in winter, so the windows were closed but there was a cosy atmosphere. We walked in the main entrance and past the main bar, which looked like a popular place for the locals to catch up and spin some tales. If you want to visit this section for a drink, also take a walk outside and enjoy the small outdoor beer garden, which has a neon sign that lights up pink at night - "Blame it on the Breeze".

At the entrance to the restaurant, we were greeted by a friendly staff member, who showed us to our table and gave us our menus. The menu was extensive, with chicken wings, baos, steaks, pasta, schnitzels, seafood and kids meals, with some tasty side options. The couple on the table next to us were sharing the Seabreeze Platter on the Specials board, which included bao, steak, garlic bread, ribs and calamari to share. Although everything sounded divine, on our visit we were keen to try their burgers. As avid burger-lovers, we have our favourites in the area (such as Murray's Brewery and Birubi Beach Kiosk), so we ordered the Seabreeze Cheeseburger & Crispy Chicken Burger.
As we sat and waited, we looked around and appreciated the attractive décor - the large cane light pendants, Mediterranean chair styles, oars on the wall and modern accessories. We instantly relaxed and awaited our meals...

When our burgers arrived, we were impressed with the modern pub-style presentation. The chips were exceptional - perfectly cooked and we dove into them in appreciative silence. We then cut the burgers in half so that we could try each others', and we were relieved that they were both bursting with flavour and sauces.
The homemade meat patty in the cheeseburger was juicy, with the right combination of melted cheese, pickles and sauces. The buns were soft and fluffy, but you wouldn't expect anything less from Two Bobs Bakery in Nelson Bay, which supplies the Seabreeze. The chicken burger was a stand-out, with a chunky piece of moist chicken thigh, with a tasty flavour and the perfect amount of seasoning. Although the chipotle sauce was a hit of flavour, it wasn't too hot, so we could eat our burgers and enjoy the experience at our new favourite "local".

If you are in Nelson Bay for the day, ensure you stop in at the Seabreeze Hotel for a pizza, some chicken wings or just to have a cold drink out in the outdoor beer garden. Lunch begins at 12pm and dinner at 5:30pm, so you can have a leisurely day in the bay and have a hearty meal to finish. If you are staying in the accommodation and are looking for a top breakfast spot nearby, take a quick walk up the hill to The Little Nel for a healthy cafe and relaxed vibes. Make sure you come back to Seabreeze for dinner!
