Help clean up Adelaide's beaches with Sea Shepherd on Sunday October 18th.
This world wide conservation group will be leading a walk along Semaphore Beach to collect the myriad of plastic bags, lengths of twine, bits of fishing equipment, plastic bottles and other rubbish that pollutes our oceans and beaches and injures or kills marine life.
Be sure to bring protective gloves to protect yourself from potential hazards and kitchen tongs are also a useful aid for picking up rubbish without handling it.
Every day items such as balloons, fishing net, straws and plastic bags can easily be ingested by marine life, causing injury or death, so after the collection there will be an education session to explain to the children just how this type of rubbish affects our oceans.
There will also be other activities, including the making of sand sculptures and talks on different marine species.
The collection starts at 10.30, for enquiries, check the
