Food and wine for every taste
Once again, over the June long weekend, the small Fleurieu Peninsula town of McLaren Vale will be inundated with visitors keen to try the fabulous wines and gourmet food of the region during the McLaren Vale BankSA Sea and Vines Festival.
After 23 years of the Festival, McLaren Vale knows how to do it well – it's a harmonious celebration of the talents of the numerous winemakers, chefs and artisans who make the Vale their home and workplace.
For 3 days, there will be a copious variety of events to choose from, ranging from simple tastings with a platter of local goodies, to full blown degustation dinners, often shared with the winemaker him(or her)self. You can tour a winery, view an art exhibition, check out the fabulous beaches, picnic in a park, or just chill out and listen to the band. Lots of kids activities will keep the little ones amused and most wineries will have non-alcoholic options for the driver.
- Relish, which could be at any time, consists of specially ticketed events with exclusive happenings that really accentuate the diversity of the region.
- Sunday Experience offers you 9 different venues featuring mouth-watering food from 11 different caterers, refreshments from 15 wineries and brewers and entertainment to keep your toes tapping, with the day divided into 3 different sessions, ticketed separately.
- Zest on Monday is a family day out – fun for the kids, relaxation time for Mum and Dad, a chance to meet with friends for a drink and a bite and to try some new wines or dishes. And the locals will be out in force to enjoy the weekend, so don't forget to say 'hello' and maybe make some new friends along the way!
