Now in its eighth year, Sculpture on the Edge is bigger and better than ever before. The ultra-modern Sculpture on the Edge exhibition is set in the stunningly beautiful rainforest retreat of Spicers Tamarind in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. This premium art exhibitio is presented by Arts Connect Inc or ACI, who support and promote the practice and enjoyment of the arts, across the Sunshine Coast Hinterland.

Arts Connect Inc 'is a not-for-profit organisation, offering membership to everybody, no matter whether you are an artist, an art lover or a patron. ACI is continually searching for opportunities to expand their members' professional development and marketing potential. ACI co-ordinate an extensive range of activities, providing opportunities for artists to exhibit and/or sell their works.
ACI's goal is to establish and promote the Hinterland as a unique 'arts destination' and to stimulate a greater understanding of the arts within local communities.'
For the Sculpture on the Edge exhibition, sculptors from all over Queensland and Australia are invited to create unique sculptural artworks, which will complement and work within the panoramic natural landscape of Spicers Tamarind Retreat.
In 2018, prize money to the value of $10,000 is up for grabs to qualifying artists to Sculpture on the Edge, with the Awards Night 2018 being held on Wednesday 12 September at Spicers Tamarind Retreat. The exciting evening will include a twilight viewing of the sculptural works on display, plus drinks and canapés, followed by the Sculpture on the Edge winners being announced. The awesome Awards Night, commences at 4.30pm and at only $25 per person, is promising a fun-filled night of art, live music and awards.

There is so much to see and do at Sculpture on the Edge, why not make a day of it, by starting your sculpture viewing adventure with breakfast at Spicers Tamarind Restaurant. Visitors have a choice of healthy or hearty options ranging from $12 to $22, ensuring 'grumbling tummies' are kept at bay, whilst enjoying your sculpture experience.
The Spicers Tamarind Restaurant is open for morning and afternoon tea seven days of the week. Scones on the Deck with tea or coffee and scones for only $12, is the perfect in-between snack when visiting and viewing Sculpture on the Edge in 2018.
Enjoy a relaxed gourmet picnic lunch
The weather is fining up, so why not pre-book a relaxed picnic lunch in the grounds of Spicers Tamarind. The talented kitchen staff at Spicers Tamarind will prepare a gourmet picnic lunch for two. You have the option of including a bottle of wine to add to the ambience of relaxation in the manicured gardens, amongst the contemporary sculptures. The Tamarind's award-winning a-la-carte restaurant is a local known gem for visitors to the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. Why not combine a sculpture viewing in the gardens with a lunch? Mondays to Thursdays between 11.00am and 2.00pm visitors to Sculpture on the Edge will be able to take advantage of The Tamarind Restaurant's offering of delicious Vietnamese Bun Cha (rice noodles, Asian herbs, pork Pattie, nuoc mam dressing) for only $20 each, served in a noodle box. A Bar Menu will also be available to enjoy. Please note this offer is only for the duration of Sculpture on the Edge.
Every day between 3.00pm and 5.00pm visitors to Spicers Tamarind can enjoy Afternoon Drinks on the Deck. After viewing the spectacular sculptures set in the stunning gardens, visitors are invited to enjoy a sundowner on the deck, with the added bonus of 25% discount on your favourite tipple.
