The annual Sculpture on the Edge is a sculpture competition co-ordinated by Arts Connect Inc and held in the scenic Sunshine Coast Hinterland. For the first time ever, this exciting competition is to be hosted at Flaxton Gardens, one of Queensland's premier wedding and events venues, showcasing exceptional views of the coastline from Noosa to Caloundra. In other words, the perfect venue to host the 12th Sculpture on the Edge competition.

⬇️ Mooroo-kutchi is the local Gubbi Gubbi name for the black swan. This spectacular sculpture pays homage to the importance of the Mooroo-kutchi to the traditional custodians of the land and in their dreaming stories. Made from solar heating tubing, wire, cans, perspex, bucket and Venetian blinds

A bit of background on the absolutely fabulous Sculpture on the Edge -

Sculpture on the Edge was initially a collaboration with Maleny Garden Clubs' Open Gardens Festival in 2010. The success of this first event led to a stand-alone event in 2011, sponsored by the Spicer's Group. Works of art were installed at Spicer's Clovelly in Montville and then from 2012, Spicer's Tamarind Retreat in Maleny continued the tradition by generously supporting the must-visit cultural event, Sculpture on the Edge.

This looks wonderful Elaine; he sculptures are amazing. There is a thriving art community in our area but I rarely hear about sculptors.
