Every year, the National Gallery of Australia holds a family day in their Sculpture Garden by Lake Burley Griffin. Held between 10:30am - 1:30pm on 26 February, there will be creative workshops, performances and installations inspired by their current blockbuster exhibition - Versailles: Treasures from the Palace. These scenic gardens, with plenty of shade, are the perfect way to spend a Sunday with a picnic on the lawns and family fun.
Whilst there, ensure the kids have a run through Fog Sculpture by Fujiko Nakaya between 12:30pm - 2pm to keep cool. This interactive sculpture shoots out a wet mist from thousands of tiny jets, creating a mist which settles over the gardens and creates a mystical and cooling area to walk through.
