Insights into 2014's enormous, eclectic event by the sea
Sculpture By The Sea, Bondi Exhibition, 2014
Sculpture By The Sea, Bondi, 2014

This year's Sculpture by the Sea from Bondi to Tamarama lights up an already beautiful coastal walk. Animated by surreal cartoon like characters, naturally fitting rocks in socks, skew-whiff totem poles, ghostly effigies and Wickerman style behemoths, this is a two kilometre stroll full of wonders.

Featuring over one hundred artists from Australia and around the globe, 2014's Sculpture by the Sea in Sydney is one of the largest free for all art exhibitions this year.

Several pieces naturally fit in with the surroundings, almost camouflaged

This next piece, entitled 'Save Our Souls' is reminiscent of the final closing scene in the 1970s cult classic film, 'The Wickerman'.

Running from 23rd October to 9th November, this is the eighteenth annual public event.

Beginning at the bottom of Notts Avenue (just off Campbell Parade) Bondi, the exhibition finishes at Tamarama Park, Marine Drive, Tamarama. There are several water fountains along the route offering free hydration to all. The coastal walk can also be accessed by stairs at various points along the exhibition route at Hunter Park, Gaerloch Avenue and Pacific Avenue.
