A celebration of Western Australian sculpture

Sculpture at Bathers features the work of more than 80 sculptors, exclusively from Western Australia. This biennial event has been held on the shores of Fremantle's Bathers Beach and the Kidogo Arthouse since 2013, and will run this year from 25 February to 12 March.

It's a perfect opportunity to enjoy a taste of WA's creative scene with a seaside stroll through the picturesque backdrop of sea, sand, sun, and stunning heritage buildings. There will be plenty of fascinating, exciting and interesting artworks to enjoy, and it's also a great spot to take some of your last summer snaps, or to take a trip with the family to introduce the younger members to the world of art in the great outdoors.

Making magic happen
If you're in the area the week before Sculpture at Bathers, you're in for a treat! From the 16th to the 20th of February, you can watch the Little Creatures Artist-in-Residence, Thomas de Munk-Kerkmeer, at work as he finishes his sculpture for the event.

Planning your trip

Bathers Beach is roughly a 15 minute walk from Fremantle train station. While you're in the area, there's plenty of delicious dining choices, and you could even enjoy Fremantle's fish and chips on the beach, or head to the nearby E Shed Markets
