Sculptors Queensland presents Sculptures by the River , an alfresco collection of works by Queensland artists, displayed along Northshore Hamilton.

From an indigenous swampland to a bustling retail and commercial precinct, this pocket on the northside of the Brisbane River has seen many changes over the years. Sculptures by the River celebrates the past and presents uses of the Brisbane River.

The event launches Saturday, 3 October, with an indoor exhibition of smaller works. This exhibit runs until 11 October, and artists will be on hand to discuss their work, give presentations and lead tours. All artwork is available for sale.

The outdoor sculptures will be on display along the riverwalk and at Eat Street Market until 6 December. A small number of guided tours will take place on the weekends during the indoor exhibitions, as well as 18 October and 15 November. There will also be live, roving entertainment along the riverwalk on these dates. Bookings are recommended.

Sculptures Queensland have also put together a scavenger hunt for adventurous art lovers. Start at Harbour Side Cafe and follow the walk until you find all four checkpoints, ending in a community sculpture that you can contribute to. Be sure to share your work with the hashtag #sculpturebytheriver .

When you're finished, check out what else Northshore has to offer .

You can reach Northshore Hamilton by taking the CityCat to Northshore. There is also on-site parking if you prefer to drive.
