Gain an understanding and empower others
As part of South Australia's History Festival and the focus on stories of our LGBTIQ past, the History Trust of South Australia and University Collections, University Adelaide is inviting you to a free screening of the movie, Suited on Friday 4 May 2018 from 6.30 pm.
Suited is the story of Brindle & Keep, a tailoring company in Brooklyn which caters to the LGBTQ community. Taking into account issues of identity, empowerment and the importance of feeling happy, Rae and Daniel prepare custom-made clothing specifically designed to suit each client and truly demonstrating that one size does not fit all.
The screening will be followed by a discussion about the film and the relationship between style and identity.
Light refreshments are provided and the screening will occur at Lecture Theatre G04, Napier Building, The University of Adelaide, North Terrace, Adelaide.
Timed parking is available on Kintore Avenue and Victoria Drive, Adelaide or there are multistorey carparks not far away either in Gawler Place or North Terrace. Information on public transport can be found at Adelaide Metro.
