The Matthew Flinders Art Gallery is hosting the 'Scratching Around' exhibition, currently running until 18th April 2021.

Named appropriately by ten contemporary Bribie Artists, who have been scratching around to create unique and special images for their 'Scratch the Surface' exhibition, there are paintings, printing, textile work, sculpture, and more to view. The ten creative artists are Cheryl Mortimer, John Stegeman, Deidre Nelson, Helen Hall, Sue Gardner, Chris Miles, Noeline Machan, Lorraine Emerson, Robert Bradfield and Molly Galpin who are extremely excited to bring this exhibition to you.

Entry to the gallery is free and is open from Tuesday to Saturday 9.00am to 4.00pm and on Sundays from 9.00 to 1.00pm. Café 191 is situated on the premises for you to enjoy a warming cuppa and bite to eat.

The Matthew Flinders Art Gallery is set amongst beautiful bush surrounds and was opened in 1999 to commemorate the bicentenary of Matthew Flinders ' landing on Bribie Island. Bribie Island is fifty-four kilometres from Brisbane and makes a great weekend escape from the City. The address for the gallery is 91 Sunderland Drive, Banksia Beach.
